Sweet treat at Vanilla Cupcake Bakery

I was strolling at Trinoma where I first saw Vanilla Cupcake Bakery. From the outside I saw people drinking tea on a very cute tea set that reminded me of Alice on The Wonderland. Admiring it from my side the pastel colors and the cute stuff adoring the place made Vanilla Cupcake Bakery on to my bucketlist. Of course I could have tried it back then if only I’m not on a hurry for Cinemalaya premiere but setting my priorities straight. Okay, there will be next time.

Several weeks, months even had passed but still no cupcakes for me. Until a couple of days ago my brother posted a picture of a dessert he had at Vanilla Cupcake and I was like, "What???!! You've tried it without me?!?"

Then, I find myself two days after at Vanilla Cupcake Bakery, The Fort. With no other than my brothers in tow. ( Like I have a choice. Lol. :p )

First, I am not in love with sweets but what made me want to try this place were the cute interiors. Feeling like a princess and oh so girly once in a while will not hurt.

There's a wide selection of cupcakes and it’s too hard to decide. Everything looks good and delicious.

Banoffee - top view :)

I got a heads up from my brother telling me that Banoffee is so good. So I ended up ordering Banoffee. It is my first time to try this and I am no expert on desserts so I have nothing to compare it with. It was good. I love that it's not to sweet or else I might not finish it but it turn out otherwise. Lol.

Mango Panacotta
My brother had Mango Pannacotta, I love the mangoes and not too sweet as well. It was okay.

Oreo  Cheesecake

The younger bro, ordered Oreo Cheescake. I get to taste this one and for me it's too sweet. It was so rich and overwhelming. I got "umay". You might want to pair this one with a tea or coffee to balance the sweetness.

The price maybe steep for a cupcake compared to its other competitors. But you don’t want to miss the feeling of walking into a fairyland even for a day. So go check it out!

Till next time! Ciao!

S&R New York Style Pizza

S&R New York Style Pizza is our family's newest favorite. We've been having it for several days now since it's just a walking distance from where we are staying (temporarily). Considering the price, the serving and the taste S&R New York Style Pizza is a steal! With it's huge serving and delectable taste one can never go wrong.

They have four pizza flavors: combo, cheese, pepperoni and garlic shrimp. And of which my favorite is the garlic shrimp but for now I ordered a combo. At Php 99/slice it can already feed two people. Imagine a paper plate covered with a pizza, that's how big a slice is.

Combo pizza is topped with melted mozzarella cheese, green bell peppers, pepperoni, onions and olives on a perfect pizza dough. What I love about their pizza aside from the size is it's not greasy unlike other pizza house. I find it less sinful haha!

We also ordered the Cheeseburger. Everything here is really big. We have it cut in half, for sharing. The burger is good albeit dry but still flavorful.

Another thing to love is the unlimited drinks at Php45. It's a tall cup alright. You can choose any soda you like but I'd go for the Real Life Tea if I were you. ;) Just my preference, soda makes your tummy heavy.

What else to love is the condiments! Unlimited! Onions, pickles, mustard, catsup, hotsauce, mayonnaise you can have it anyway you want it.

Now head out to the nearest S&R! Oh! But wait there's a glitch. It's a membership shopping. You have to be a member at Php 700 (Gold) and Php 900 (Business). I assure you it will be worth it.

Till next time! Ciao!

As good as gold?! Magnum Gold?!

Magnum is back! Marking its name in the Philippines, 2 years after it is back with something luxurious more than ever. Is it glittering and... ohweemmgee is it GOLD?!? Magnum Gold?? I've never been a fan of Magnum but I just can’t resist not to try this one. As the old adage says "Anything that glitters is good". Let's try it then!

Magnum Gold is a vanilla flavoured ice cream with seasalt caramel sauce. Double dipped in a thin layer of Belgian chocolate then coated with a golden coloured chocolate. Is it good? Compared to other ice cream bars this one tops the chart. Any sweet lovers will love it for sure. My brother love Magnum Gold and finished two in one seating as for me I find this overly sweet and as I was looking for the hint of seasalt, I found none. I don’t love it nor hate it, it's just that I have expected so much.

But, hey you got to try this one!

Banapple: Pies and Cheesecakes

I was really hesitant to try Banapple Pies and Cheesecakes. From the name itself I really thought that they only offer desserts and sweets which I'm not really fond of and boy! I was so wrong. I never thought that they offer rice meals, pasta and sandwiches and other appetizers that is oh so yummy!

I think I just had a new favorite place to dine in. The place is very light and comfortable even if the place is packed. The colors are very pleasing to the eye.

For our appetizer we had Cheese and Jalapeno Boulders, I love this, it was cheesy, creamy and crunchy there's an unnoticeable heat from the jalapeno. It comes in 7 pieces, I wish there's more^^

Because I am a pasta lover, I ordered Lasagana Rolled-ups, it is a rolled up wide strip lasagna filled with herbed cream and parmesan cheeses smothered with classic tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. I had a hard time finishing this because of the huge serving at Php 195, this one is so sulit. It was creamy and delicious but did not have that umay factor. It was really filling.

While my brother ordered Hickory Smoked Barbecued Country Ribs, the smoky flavor of the ribs combined with the sweetness of the sauce was overwhelming it was delicious and savory nonetheless but I find the amount of sauce overpowered everything. It is also served with a corn relish.

Before we ordered our meals we decided that we will order desserts after we our finished but it didn't happen because we were so full. Epic Fail! Lol. Anyway, At least there is a reason to be back at Banapple.

Till next time!
Ciao!

UST Foodtrip #1: 1236 Grillery

I've been living near UST for almost a decade now and I never engaged myself on a foodtrip until recently. I know right?! Where am I all the days of my life. I've seen that I have missed a lot already. Surrounding the area are lots of cafe, fastfood, diners, eateries name it they have it all. A total food haven and what else to love? Food are relatively cheaper for they cater mostly students. Yes!

For my first foodstop, located at Asturias St. near UST is 1236 Grillery. A small diner which serves steaks, fish, chicken, pork and pasta in a whole new level.

At Php 100-150 budget/person you can have a decent meal not only it looks appetizing but it taste great as well.

I ordered the recommended dish the, DEVILLED CHICKEN

Fried pocket chicken fillet stripped w/spinach and chili garlic cream cheese with homemade spicy tomato concassi sauce
The Devilled Chicken is a devil in hotness AND I LOVE IT! I love that the spiciness does not overpower the taste of the dish as a whole. The spinach and cream cheese is a surprise it goes well with the tomato based sauce and the juicy fillet chicken.

My brother got CHICKEN MI AMORE...

Grilled Chicken fillet topped with salted bacon, tomato mushroom and pesto sauce
I get to taste a small portion of this and I can say that it is really creamy and the pesto flavor is distinct but I think the dish border the line of being a little salty.

Our overall experience made me hungry for more I just cant stop reminiscing the flavors that I just had. There's a lot to try and I'm going back soon.

Stay tuned for more of my UST foodtrip.
Ciao!
