Year end 2017

OMG!

Its been a long time really how I really miss blogging. A lot of things happen since my last post on 2015. To sum it up I got married, got pregnant and now I have a very mischievous but lovely and sweet two year old boy. I know right terrible two's. Amazing I'm still up on my feet. My little family is what's keeping me busy right now and a little garden as well to keep me sane.

Gardening is actually a revelation for me this 2017. I thought I wouldn't really like it because I hate all kinds  of insect and bugs... as in ALL KINDS! Hate is such a strong word, maybe I'm afraid of it every time I see one I feel like they're crawling on my skin and makes me itchy especially spiders. Don't get me started with spiders. Just thinking about it. Oh no! Back to gardening...apparently it has a therapeutic effect on me. It makes me feel productive and accomplished. Seeing them grow from little seeds, they're my little babies. I talk to them a lot! Apparently it is working. They are giving me the veggies and herbs that I needed. LOL.

Another thing that I learn to love is baking and cooking. I LOVE FOOD!!! I don't go out to try different restaurant as much as I do when I was in Philippines. It's just that I don't find it practical anymore because I can do it myself and the ingredients are readily available so I taught myself how to cook.

What to expect on 2018:
 - Lots of food post, recipes that I tried, failures in the kitchen, tips and tricks
 - Garden update so I know if I am learning something or not
 - just random stuff cause I feel like I need to speak my mind cause I need someone to talk to really... not just my plants.

Ciao!

Akaroa Harbour

Hi there peeps! How have you been? A month has passed since I last wrote something. I'm still getting acquainted with my new environment here in Christchurch. I'm still not used to the cold weather it'll probably take time but I'll get there.

What I love about Christchurch, New Zealand?
  • Ironically, the weather (even if it's too cold) the thing is I haven't had any allergy attacks since I left Manila. The fresh air  makes breathing easier it's a big YES for me. I don't have to worry about my eyes being swollen and itchy, my nose being runny all the time.
  • The gardens/park. Christchurch is a Garden City for a reason. It is a very beautiful place to see, relax and have fun. And by fun means reading a book in a quiet corner or just laying on the grass, enjoying the breeze under the sun. No one will mind. (that's the bookworm in me talking)
  • The people. They are generally friendly and accommodating.
  • The Sunday Market. I love the bargains.
  • The view of the mountains, river and the nature itself. It's like a 360 degrees outstanding paradise. It's like I walk right into a book, a fariytale. The trees, the flowers, the water is in perfect synchrony.
Those are the few things that I love about being here I've been here for a month I still have a lot to explore and know more about this beautiful place.

...And I love the weekends... weekends are for traveling and exploring places such as these...
Breathtaking view of Akaroa Harbour

These pictures are taken at the Hill top. I just fell in love with the place. I totally cried. My dad would have loved it here. I'm so thankful I get to experience such beauty. God is really amazing, fantastic, marvelous. He is incomparable! I'm really great full for such awesomeness.

A Little Piece of Me

Hi guys!!!

I AM SORRY. I know right?! What a way to start a post. Time pass like a blink of an eye. I've been neglecting this blog since March and I am apologizing for my procrastination. A lot of things have change and I can't still get a hang of it. I'm still grieving for the loss of my dad due to liver cancer hence the hiatus. I feel heart broken. My life turned upside-down after that and I don't know where to start. I don't know, it's just that I feel lost all of a sudden. I am not ready for such drastic change in our family. Since I'm the eldest I have to step in to all the responsibilities that is left by my dad. I AM SCARED. I AM AFRAID. But it's already there and and I cannot change the change so I just have to face it and not get my fear of failure to dictate my life. I'm doing the best I can. I know I can do this. Please pray for me people. Love y'all!

On My Mini-Hiatus

Hello there peeps!

Sorry for my mini hiatus. I've been so busy these past few days. It seems that life is moving so fast I just want to stop it for awhile. February is almost over can you believe that? I even forgot what the day is.

So what's keeping me busy?

  • My future! Haha! Well I’m trying my luck overseas. Working on my visa, processing, medical, papers etc. This eats up most of my time at the end of the day I am dead tired. I even have to file a vacation leave just to make ends meet. Hopefully if god willing I'll be flying this year. Please give it to me. Please. Please. Please.

  • Reading Challenge. Other than my love for food is my love for books. I can read 2-3 books per week. BUT reading a classic literature is another story. My 2014 challenge includes reading a classic. I am reading To Kill A Mockingbird for almost a month now and I'm not even halfway through it. There are a lot of big words that I need to consult with Mr. Webster thus slowing me down. Well at least from a thousand words I now have a thousand and one on my poor memory card heehee.

  • My dad (and a lot of worrying). He's been sick for so long and no matter what medication he takes he doesn’t seem to get better. He's been in and out of the hospital two times this month. I need your prayers peeps! :(

  • The Heirs. The koreanovela haha! It's Lee Min Ho! <3 ^^ I download episodes every morning then I watch it just before I go to bed (so I can dream of Lee Min Ho) Lolz. I could buy a pirated DVD alright to spare me some time but I knowing me I'll probably finish it in a day (because I can’t stop) and forget about my other duties. That's a NO-NO.

Oh well, now you know why I can't face the lovable blog of mine. It doesn’t seem much but I tire easily and when it does my memory card doesn’t function well (excuses!!) But do stay tune for more post coming... really soon!

Ciao!

My First: BDJ Power Planner

Hello there peeps! First of all I would like to greet you  a HAPPY NEW YEAR! May 2014 be fruitful to y'all.

It seems that 2013 passed by like a blink of an eye. It had been a series of ups and downs ( mostly down ) for me and my family. But no! I'm not going to enumerate what transpire  last year. I don't want to bombard you with all the negativity. Lets just all be positive and keep that faith strong and firm. We can all do it! Fighting! ^^

First off, To jumpstart my 2014 and to have a clearer view of what lies ahead I purchased my first ever! Belle De Jour planner! Hooray! Coffee House planners is too conventional I got hooked once collecting stickers and gaining that unwanted calories and a hole in my pocket. In the end I ended up not using the planner and put it on display. It felt rejected. I wanted a planner that  is full of  colors and feels like me. I'd go for chic, fun, trendy but at the same time sophisticated planner.

Before I can grab hold off the BDJ Power Planner I had to go three different bookstores because it is either out of stock or they only have the spiral and I'm looking for the smythsewn. Well, luckily for me I find mine at Fullybooked SM North.

I love the BDJ Power Planner  because of...

1.) The Cover. Look how gorgeous the cover is. I feel like a girl right now. Oh wait! I actually am. ^^

2.) Special pages such as Dream Board. 2014 BDJ Checklist. Gift Tracker. Menstrual Tracker. Bills Tracker. Events planner and a whole lot more. To help you focus on what's important and to take good care of yourself. As well as managing your income and expenses.
3.) Monthly tools and Weekly features. To spice up your planning and get things done in order to make a difference.
4.)What's more to love? Coupons. And lots of it over 40,000 worth. I love great deals and discounted stuff. Who doesn't?
5.) Stickers. They're just so cool for special dates.
6.) Lifestyle Card. To gain access to all BDJ events through out the year.

A 200 full-color pages. Matte-laminated hard cover with expandable back pocket. All that fun planning and tracking for Php 598. I know you want them. You should grab yours then... here.

Pursue that dreams! Get movin'! Cheers to y'all!

Apir! For 2014!

From the Bloggers Desk

Dudes and Dudettes,

I came to know that someday I might forget things due to old age but with the use of this online diary more commonly known as blogging the memories will live forever. Not that I wanted to be known or something, I just wanted to share a piece of me. I know I cannot contribute much to this world, because all of this somehow is nonsense. BUT I still want to try something that I have never done before. I am not a writer. I don't exhibit that in-depth thoughts that most writers and bloggers alike possessed. My vocabulary is limited to hundreds to a few thousand words. I cannot write even a one-page reaction paper. I really suck you know but I do know something. I wanted to learn. English is not my best game and I am willing to beat myself on my own game. Thus the birth of this blog, "Sweet and Chili Spices"

Sweet and Chili Spices is like any other blog that you can imagine. A personal space to keep my mind off things. A journal to document my everyday life's journey. Maybe some nonsense emotional turmoil of a late 20's gal. Ehem! That's me! Or just another food blog that you accidentally drop on by. The truth is, it can be anything I like. Anyway, feel free to leave your comments or feedback. I will not hold a grudge on you if you speak ill of this. It's your opinion anyway and with that I might learn a thing or two. (But I'll be so glad if you tell me in a manner not so ego wrecking) It's an on-going process. It's a never ending learning and I'll be glad to widen my horizon.

Happy reading! :)
