My Life Saver: Paotsin

Just when I thought that I'll succumb to starvation there will always be Paotsin, my life saver. With its very affordable price, Paotsin has been and forever will be my to-go place. Not only that they serve dimsum and dumplings which you can pair with hainanese, lemak or seafood rice (depends on the branch) they also serve noodles known as laksa, another of my comfort food. I always have Laksa with dumplings plus an order of either sharksfin or spicy fish which I love most. But this time im not having one of those because the branch that I frequent now offers Asian Chicken with Hainanese Rice (Php 65) and Laksa with Asian Chicken (Php 75). I had for take out, Laksa with Asian Chicken.

Laksa with Asian Chicken. Three big cuts of chicken. I swear it's delish!
The laksa is the same thing there is a slight kick to it but a little bit salty on the side, You see that's one thing that I observed there's this server who serves just right then the other serve a lot saltier than the other. I don't know but they're not consistent. With Asian chicken, it is fried to perfection and the flavor is there. It did compliment with the noodles. The only downside is its a lot oilier than the usual dumplings. But taste wise and budget wise, aprub!

Ciao!

Delighted in Hainanese Delights

Hainanese Delights is a place I always frequent especially if I want a meal that is friendly on the pocket but packs a food full of flavors and at the same time exhibits simplicity. This is a place where I bring friends and family members whenever they don't know what and where to eat. Meaning, this is a place that I grew comfortable with because I know things can never go wrong.

Hainanese Delights, perfectly seasoned and tender chicken
This is what they are known for, the white chicken. It is cooked perfectly with the juices and all. Dip it with their soy sauce, ginger and chili it gives off a full-house of flavors.

Hainan Fried Chicken
Basically its like their Hainanese White Chicken the only difference is the crispy skin because it's fried. An order comes with Hainan Rice which is also flavorful. I can say "kanin pa lang ulam na" *winks. And hey! the rice is unlimited. *another wink*

The Singapore Staple, an order comes with a Hainanese Chicken
Now, now, let us see this is the first time that I order their noodles and this one did not passed my standards. I did not enjoy it at all. This one is bland. Nothing. I cannot even feel how its like. Nothing.

Take the cake, a crunchy concoction of salt and pepper radish cake.
The first time I had this, I was hesitant, for so you know I don't eat radish but after sampling this, the rest is history. I never leave Hainanese Delights without ordering this. It's considered a sin if I don't. The crunch outside plus the softness inside paired with the vinegar is a heaven in my mouth.

Hainanese Delights give me that feeling of satisfaction not only because you feel satiated but also the feeling of fulfillment because you just know that you once again have the best day of your life.

See you on my next food stop!

Ramen and Japadog at Tokyo Tokyo

Bonding with my siblings meaning the three of us, complete, is a rare chance. Usually, the youngest more likely than not, fail to join us often. When we do get together, WE PIG OUT. That's the only thing the three of us have in common. We love good food.

While waiting for Stuart's first full pampering (Stuart is a six-month old tsi tzuh) under the care of Furry tails we decided to have our fill first since it was almost lunch time. I always wanted to try Bigg's since I had learned that it was one of the most sought after diner in Bicol but unfortunately the nearest branch at SM Sta. Rosa closed down. So goodbye Bigg's see you when I see you in Bicol. So our choices narrowed down to Adobo Connection but we landed on Tokyo Tokyo. A very common place for us and my mom and dads usual to go place.

Seeing that they now offer Ramen and Japadogs, I never had second thoughts about it. This is something that I should try.

California Japadog
I am not into burgers but more of a hotdog kind of person. I love hotdogs! Who doesn't? Tokyo Tokyo's japadog comes in three variants classic, american and california I get to try their California Japadog and I love it! The crunchiness of the batter coated the hotdog on a bed of crabsticks, cabbage, teriyaki sauce and japanese mayo really compliment each other. It is like a california maki on a whole new level. Which I totally have a thing for.
Braised Beef Ramen

Spicy Chicken Ramen
Noodles is something I eat a lot. Meaning A LOT! I can have it anytime of the day. That's why knowing that Tokyo Tokyo now offers Ramen. I did not waiver I just know I have to try it. It comes in three different flavors: tempura miso, spicy chicken, braised beef. We tried the last two. Their ramen is really flavorful, the noodles is perfect the toppings is served generously. The Spicy Chicken is crunchy and has the right amount of kick to it. The Braised beef is very tender. It was really good. Plus the fact that their ramen is very affordable. A great deal to try.

Gyoza
A combo order comes with a drink and a gyoza. Their gyoza was okay nothing extraordinary a good pair with their ramen.

You should try it sometime!

Ciao! Till next time! ;)

Foodtrip: Kiko's All Time Paborito

It's been awhile since I last posted something on this blog. Schedules! Schedules! Schedules! What else to blame and a lot of procrastination. But, hey! I'm back now so don't fret. So for my comeback post, I am sharing you my new discovery which I discovered one day while I'm out for my morning run. The restaurant in fact is not new at all, it has been there for quite sometime but we just recently tried it. Hello to "Kiko's All Time Paborito". A restaurant which offers our all time Filipino favorites.

First, the place was quite small and can sit around 12-15 people. A television set was also in place, a good thing because the orders can take awhile. The ambiance was off, I wanted to be comfortable but Im not, it has something to do with the chairs. The dining was on a separate area. You have to go out to the next room if you have concerns because all the staff were there. None of them was staying on the dining itself.

For our orders my brother had Liempo de pugon served with unlimited rice and a soup. I love the taste of their liempo it is different from the one I usually have. Maybe pugon cooking has something to do with it.

Liempo De Pugon

Picture! Picture! Utensils. :)
Among my filipino favorite is Dinuguan and good thing its on their menu. It is good but it did not stand out. It was just okay. Just something to fill up your hungry tummy.

If you are looking for alternatives for Mang Inasal and Chic-Boy, this place is a good choice because they have the same line of food and yes extra rice please!

Ciao! Till next time! ;)
